The Hazard Communication Specialist course provides instruction on OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (1910.1200), including the 2012 updates to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. Topics include the reasons for GHS adoption, differences between previous HazCom requirements and GHS, new labeling elements, pictograms, Safety Data Sheet format changes, and updates to physical and health hazard classifications. Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the exam receive 1.3 IACET Continuing Education Units.
