To learn more about how safety and health metrics can be used more effectively to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, OSHA has asked the National Safety Council to conduct a survey.

Itasca, IL — Improving methods of tracking musculoskeletal disorders, continuously monitoring and assessing physical risk factors, and sharing best practices can help workplace MSD prevention programs have real impact.

Washington — NIOSH is accepting nominations until March 1 for its Prevention through Design Award.

“The many benefits this technology brings to workplace safety programs cannot be overlooked,” says the National Safety Council, which recently published a white paper on the topic.

We’re pleased to introduce a new quarterly column: “NSC Thought Leadership.” To kick things off, John Dony, the council’s vice president of workplace strategy, explains how a partnership with United Kingdom-based nonprofit Lloyd’s Register Foundation has resulted in the proposal of “a model for the ‘new value of safety.’”

“It’s increasingly harder to ignore the fact that for many, the concept of safety has expanded to include safeguarding all the things that make us who we are,” says NSC’s John Dony.
