OSHA launches heat illness prevention campaign

Washington – Noting how easily heat stress can turn into heat stroke and even death, OSHA administrator David Michaels announced the kick-off of the agency’s second annual heat illness prevention campaign.

Working in a cold environment

Workers who are exposed to extreme cold may be at risk of cold stress. Hypothermia, frostbite, trench foot and chilblain are all examples of illnesses that can be caused by extremely cold or wet weather whenever temperatures drop.
