Every month during 2019, Safety+Health will be sharing bits of the magazine’s history from its first 100 years.
Safety+Health has been fortunate to have long-serving editors in its 100-year history. These journalists were, and are, dedicated to providing safety professionals with the news and resources they need to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
Carman Fish came on as editor in February 1925, and held the position for more than 35 years, until November 1960. Roy Fisher served as editor for nearly 23 years, from June 1967 to April 1990. Melissa J. Ruminski took over the post in September 2006, and remains editor today – making her the magazine’s third longest-serving editor at 13 years and counting.
