Ahead of GHS meeting, OSHA asks for input

Washington — OSHA has scheduled a public meeting in advance of the 44th session of the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.

According to a notice published in the May 24 Federal Register, the hybrid meeting is set for 1 p.m. Eastern on June 21. OSHA requests information and comments as the federal government prepares for the UNSCEGHS meeting – set for July 10-12 in Geneva, Switzerland.

OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard aligns with GHS. The agency, along with the U.S. Interagency Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) Coordinating Group, “plans to consider the comments and information gathered at this public meeting when developing the U.S. government positions for the UNSCEGHS meeting.”
