Washington — OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is set to meet Sept. 14.
According to a notice published in the Aug. 22 Federal Register, the meeting is slated for 9 a.m. Eastern and will be open to the public virtually. The tentative agenda includes:
- An agency update and remarks from administrator Doug Parker
- An update and discussion on rulemaking aimed at protecting workers from heat injury and illnesses in outdoor and indoor work settings
- A discussion on the advance notice of proposed rulemaking for occupational exposure to lead
- An industry update from the Directorate of Construction
- ACCSH workgroup reports
- A public comment period
Comments and requests to speak are due Sept. 7.
Additionally, three ACCSH workgroups will meet virtually Sept. 13. The first of the two-hour meetings will begin at 10 a.m. (education and training), followed by meetings at 1 p.m. (emerging and current issues) and 3:10 p.m. (infrastructure). They’re open to the public.
ACCSH advises the Department of Labor and OSHA on upcoming standards affecting the construction industry and “the administration of safety and health provisions” in the Construction Safety Act.
