OSHA postpones construction advisory committee meetings

Washington — OSHA has postponed upcoming meetings of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health and its workgroups.

The meetings, slated for April 28-29, will be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined, according to a notice published in the April 15 Federal Register.

Among the agenda items listed for the full ACCSH meeting are updates to OSHA’s regulations on powered industrial trucks (1910.178) and hazard communication (1910.1200), as well as an update on silica regulations in construction.

The Education, Training and Outreach workgroup’s meeting will focus on trench safety and fall prevention, while the Emerging and Current Issues workgroup intends to address opioids and suicides in construction.

ACCSH advises the Department of Labor and OSHA on upcoming standards affecting the construction industry and “the administration of safety and health provisions” in the Construction Safety Act.
