100 years of Safety+Health: We were there …

Every month during 2019, Safety+Health will be sharing bits of the magazine’s history from its first 100 years.

Safety+Health has been around for most of the major milestones in occupational safety and health. This includes President Richard Nixon’s signing, on Dec. 29, 1970, of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The magazine, then called National Safety News, described the event as taking place “after almost three years of controversy and legislative battle.”
