Cleveland, TN — Eaton Corp., a manufacturer of power management solutions, has issued a safety recall of 26 models of safety switches that may transport power when the handle is in the “off” position.
The possible affected devices cover certain models of 30A and 60A heavy-duty safety switches manufactured between Nov. 19, 2015, and Jan. 23, 2018. The devices include the following catalog number prefixes: DCG110, DCG210, DCG306, DCG606, DCU110, DCU210, DCU306, DEM362, DH161, DH162, DH261, DH262, DH321, DH322, DH361, DH362, DH661, DH662, OLI361, OLI362, STS261, STS262, STS321, STS322, STS361 and STS362.
Prefixes and manufacturing dates are located on product shipping labels or the unit publication inside the switch. Eaton notes that switches marked with a yellow dot or marking on the switch handle arm or adjacent to the catalog number on the switch carton have been verified to be conforming and are not affected.
Eaton instructs affected users to have a qualified individual inspect switches. If necessary, ensure the individual de-energizes the switches and locks out upstream equipment while wearing proper personal protective equipment.
Affected users can call Eaton at (800) 410-2910 for return and replacement orders or email [email protected] with questions.
