OSHA names Dean McKenzie director of construction directorate

Washington – Dean McKenzie has been appointed director of OSHA’s Directorate of Construction.

McKenzie had been serving as interim director since January before being selected to head the directorate on Sept. 1. Prior to that, he was the directorate’s deputy director from 2013 to 2016, and director of OSHA’s Office of Construction Services from 2012 to 2013.

During his tenure with OSHA, McKenzie has worked to address fatalities in the communication tower industry, collaborated with the Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, and helped guide the “Stand Down to Prevent Falls in Construction” campaign, the agency stated in a Sept. 1 press release.
