Salem, OR – A hazard communication requirement is the most violated workplace safety rule in Oregon, outpacing the No. 2 standard by more than one-third.
Unveiled in Oregon OSHA’s February newsletter, the top 10 list ranks the most frequently violated rules in the state in 2015, based on preliminary data.
Oregon OSHA found 663 violations of the Hazard Communication: Written Program rule. A state standard requiring safety committees and meetings came in second, with 394.

Oregon operates under a federally approved OSHA State Plan. On federal OSHA’s top 10 list for fiscal year 2015, the No. 1 most frequently cited violation was Fall Protection – General Requirements, followed by Hazard Communication.
