OSHA seeks ACCSH nominations

Washington – OSHA is seeking to fill eight vacancies in its Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health.

In a notice published in the Nov. 23 Federal Register, the agency announced it was seeking membership nominations for:

  • Three representatives qualified to offer the viewpoint of construction industry employers
  • Three representatives qualified to offer the viewpoint of construction industry employees
  • One representative from a state safety and health agency
  • One representative from the public who has professional or technical experience with construction industry safety and health

Members serve two-year terms, and nominations are due by Jan. 23. In related news, ACCSH will meet Dec. 15-16 in Washington to receive updates from OSHA officials on the agency’s enforcement and outreach efforts, and will discuss proposed standards, among other topics.

On Dec. 13-14, several of the committee’s workgroups will meet, including Construction Health Hazards; Reinforced Concrete in Construction; and Multilingual Issues, Diversity, and Women in Construction. All meetings are open to the public.

Composed of 15 members, ACCSH advises the secretary of labor on policy matters and formulating construction safety and health standards.
