Slide presentation offers guidance on fall prevention

Washington – A new slide presentation from OSHA shows employers how to prevent falls among residential construction workers.

Topics covered in the presentation include safety methods for preventing injuries from falls and techniques used during various stages of construction, such as safety nets, guardrails, body harnesses, lanyards and lifelines.

The presentation is one of several guidance materials OSHA is offering on residential construction. Last year, the agency issued a new directive replacing a former interim directive that allowed residential home builders to bypass fall protection requirements.
