FACOSH schedules meeting for June

Washington – The Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health has scheduled its next meeting for June 7 in Washington.

The tentative agenda for the meeting includes updates on heat-related illnesses, distracted driving and permissible exposure limits, as well as a review of safety and health training requirements for federal workers.

In a related matter, OSHA on May 18 announced the appointment of Edward Hamilton to FACOSH. Hamilton, who is with the Department of Justice, will complete the unexpired term of another council member who was unable to serve.

Composed of eight members representing federal agency management and eight members from labor organization representing federal employees, FACOSH advises the secretary of labor on occupational safety and health issues pertaining to federal employees.
