Topeka, KS — The Kansas Department of Transportation is accepting applications for $2 million in funding for innovative, transportation-related projects that promote safety and implement new technology.
KDOT’s Innovative Technology Program is open to governmental and nongovernmental transportation system projects. Categories include:
- Aviation
- Public transit
- Rail
- Roadway
- Software and technology infrastructure
- Unmanned aerial systems (drones)
KDOT considers “innovative technology” to be “any technology that does not currently exist” in the project’s base community.
The department must approve a project concept submission before providing an application. The deadline for project concepts is Nov. 17, while the application deadline is Nov. 30.
