The National Safety Council honored three organizations working toward – and succeeding in – preventing injuries and saving lives with its renowned Green Cross for Safety awards.

For the 12th straight fiscal year, Fall Protection – General Requirements is OSHA’s most frequently cited standard, the agency and Safety+Health announced Tuesday during the 2022 NSC Safety Congress & Expo.

As part of its National Awards Celebration, the National Safety Council on Monday evening honored organizations and individuals who have played a significant role in helping to make U.S. communities, workplaces and roads safer.

When it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, NIOSH Director John Howard says many organizations are still learning how their efforts can benefit safety and health outcomes. “We’re all starting out in this area,” Howard said Tuesday during a panel discussion at the 2022 NSC Safety Congress & Expo.

Employers and workers should “embrace” safety and health as a core value, OSHA administrator Doug Parker told attendees of the Occupational Keynote on Tuesday during the 2022 NSC Safety Congress & Expo at the San Diego Convention Center.

Maude Taylor McGraw and Violet Marrero are the recipients of the 2022 Marion Martin Award, presented annually by the National Safety Council.
