San Diego — Andrew Johnson is the new chair of the National Safety Council board of directors. Outgoing Chair Mark Vergnano passed the gavel to Johnson on Monday during the Opening Session of the NSC 2019 Congress & Expo.

San Diego — After 14,261 votes were cast for 111 products from 72 companies, the results of the 2019 “Best in Show” New Product Showcase Awards were revealed Tuesday before the Occupational Keynote at the National Safety Council 2019 Congress & Expo.

The issue is one of OSHA’s “Fatal Four” causes of construction deaths, accounting for 9.4% of fatal injuries in the industry.
