NACOSH meeting to review I2P2, recordkeeping; Solis announces new ACCSH members

Washington – Recordkeeping issues and injury and illness prevention programs will be among the topics discussed at a National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health meeting (.pdf file) scheduled for June 22 in Washington.

Both OSHA administrator David Michaels and NIOSH Director John Howard are tentatively scheduled to provide remarks. NACOSH subgroups will meet the day before the June 22 meeting.

Composed of 12 members representing management, labor, occupational safety and health professions, and the public, NACOSH advises the secretaries of labor and health and human services on a variety of worker safety issues.

In related news, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis on June 7 announced that eight new members were appointed and seven were re-appointed to the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health.

ACCSH advises the OSHA administrator on construction standards and policy matters. The 15-member committee consists of two members representing the public, five representing employees, five representing employers, two representing state governments and one appointed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
