BLS issues corrected injury and illness data

Washington – The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Nov. 14 released injury and illness data for 2011 and 2012 to correct previously disclosed data processing errors.

NFPA: Firefighter injuries exceeded 65K in 2013

Quincy, MA – More than 65,000 firefighters were injured in the line of duty in 2013, according to a report from the National Fire Protection Association.

MSHA: 8 miners died in third quarter of 2014

Arlington, VA – Eight miners were killed on the job from July 1 to Sept. 30, bringing the total number of fatalities in 2014 to 30, the Mine Safety and Health Administration announced Oct. 28.

Cheyenne, WY – Workplace deaths have declined in Wyoming, to 21 in 2013 from 31 the previous year, claims a state report released Sept. 9.

BLS preliminary data shows decline in workplace deaths in 2013

Washington – The number and rate of workers killed on the job in 2013 declined from 2012, according to preliminary data released Sept. 11 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
