White House hosts additional meeting on silica

Washington – For the ninth time in the past five months, the White House has hosted a meeting with stakeholders to discuss OSHA’s proposed crystalline silica standard.

The Aug. 10 meeting included representatives from the administration’s Office of Management and Budget, OSHA, the National Industrial Sand Association and U.S. Silica Co., among others. A record of the meeting was published on OMB’s website in early September.

At the meeting, NISA submitted a document (.pdf file) outlining its occupational health program for exposure to silica in the industrial sand industry.
