‘Safety Break’: Oregon OSHA’s annual stand-down set for May 10

Salem, OR — Oregon OSHA is encouraging all employers and workers in the state to “celebrate their safety and health achievements” and examine and renew their current safety efforts during the agency’s 20th annual Safety Break for Oregon.

During the event, scheduled for May 10, participants are also encouraged to forge new plans to eliminate workplace hazards and consider future challenges.

The agency suggests workplaces:

  • Conduct a safety stand-down to refresh knowledge and training
  • Do an assessment of where safety and health can be improved
  • Recognize emerging safety leaders

Employers who sign up online before May 5 will be entered to win one of three $100 checks to be used for a luncheon at their facility.

“Employers across all types of industries can use this statewide stand-down as an opportunity to remind everyone at their business or organization about the importance of health and safety in the workplace,” Oregon OSHA Administrator Renee Stapleton said in a press release.
