Washington — Labor Secretary Marty Walsh has appointed four members to OSHA’s National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.
Among them is John Dony, vice president of workplace strategy at the National Safety Council. Dony previously served on NACOSH for a two-year term that expired Jan. 14. His new term expires Jan. 16, 2025, according to a notice published in the Jan. 18 Federal Register.
“I am honored to be reappointed to this influential committee to prioritize worker safety and health across the country,” Dony said.
The other appointees, whose terms also expire in January 2025: Nancy Daraiseh from the University of Cincinnati, Kathleen Dobson from Alberici Constructors Inc., and Rebecca Reindel from the AFL-CIO. The 12-member committee advises, consults with and makes recommendations to the secretaries of labor and health and human services on matters relating to workplace safety and health.
Additional nominees sought
OSHA is seeking nominees for six spots on the committee, the agency announced in a Jan. 19 press release:
- Two public representatives
- One labor representative
- One management representative
- One occupational safety professional representative
- One occupational health professional representative
Members serve two-year terms. Nominations are due Feb. 2.
