A piece of a toy has broken off into your child’s hand and they’re about to put it into their mouth. You jump into action, grabbing the toy and broken piece. Now what?
Report it. SaferProducts.gov collects reports for thousands of types of consumer products, including toys, electronics, furniture and appliances.
By reporting the item, you’re helping other consumers by alerting them to dangerous products, says the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which runs SaferProducts.gov. Reporting also helps the CPSC “decide if it should take action,” which may include recalling the product, fining the manufacturer or creating regulation. If you submit a report, your information will be kept confidential.
