OSHA reschedules stakeholder meeting on possible revisions to PSM standard

Washington — OSHA on Oct. 12 will host an informal stakeholder meeting regarding potential changes to its standard on process safety management of highly hazardous chemicals (1910.119).

According to a notice published in the Sept. 20 Federal Register, the virtual meeting is slated for 10 a.m. Eastern. The meeting initially was scheduled for Sept. 28.

OSHA, which is considering several possible revisions to the scope and provisions of the current standard, will give a brief overview of its work on PSM rulemaking before hearing public comments. First published in 1992, the PSM standard requires employers to have safety programs that identify, evaluate and control hazardous chemicals.
