Clinton, MS – The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians is encouraging emergency medical services practitioners to report workplace incidents through a new online resource.
The EMS Voluntary Event Notification Tool, or E.V.E.N.T., allows EMS workers to anonymously report incidents involving near misses, violence and patient safety. NAEMT states that the information collected will be used to help explain how incidents impact workers and patients, and allows stakeholders and policymakers to better comprehend why errors occur so policies and guidance can be developed.
Twenty-five violence-related incidents have occurred among EMTs through September, compared with 39 in all of 2015, according to an NAEMT report.
