OSHA proposes revision to eye and face protection standards

Washington – OSHA has issued a proposed rule that would update personal protective equipment requirements to incorporate the latest American National Standards Institute’s eye and face protection standard.

The notice of proposed rulemaking, published in the March 13 Federal Register, would revise OSHA’s eye and face protection standards for general industry, shipyard employment, longshoring, marine terminals and construction. The proposal also updates language in OSHA’s construction rule to make it more consistent with the general industry and maritime standards

Comments on the proposed rule are due April 13.
