Washington – The Food and Drug Administration has developed a free safety guide on patient lifting devices.
The 18-page guide, designed in collaboration with visual language publisher Kwikpoint, features several illustrations on proper technique when using patient lifts while lifting or transferring patients. FDA states that patient lifting devices can help make moving patients safer and easier for caregivers, but improper use can pose health risks.
