Washington state to provide return-to-work, safety and health grants

Tumwater, WA – Washington state is offering grants to fund innovative workplace safety and health or return-to-work programs.

More than $200,000 in funds is available through the state’s Department of Labor & Industries’ Safety and Health Investment Projects grant program. Specifically, $125,000 in funding is available for programs presenting new ideas that encourage workplace safety and health and help prevent injuries and illnesses. An additional $85,000 is available for programs offering “creative solutions” to return injured workers to the job and reduce long-term disability.

The deadline to apply for return-to-work grant funding is Sept. 30, and safety and health programs must be submitted by Oct. 18.
