As June comes to a close, the National Safety Council would like to thank everyone who participated in National Safety Month 2011 and helped educate others on teen driving safety, ergonomics, preventing falls, preventing overexertion and the dangers of cell phone use while driving.

Carson City, NV – Gov. Brian Sandoval (R) on June 17 signed a law making Nevada the 34th state to ban texting while driving and the ninth to prohibit all handheld cell phone use while driving.

Trucking association: Proposed hours-of-service changes will hurt small businesses

Arlington, VA – Proposed changes to federal hours-of-service regulations for commercial drivers are unwarranted and would harm small businesses, a representative for the American Trucking Associations told members of Congress June 14 during a House subcommittee hearing.
