How to Prevent the Most Common HazCom Violations: An In-Depth Look at OSHA Citations

Year in and year out, OSHA’s standard on hazard communication (1910.1200) is one of the agency’s most frequently cited standards. In fiscal year 2020, OSHA issued 3,199 violations related to the standard, resulting in more than $2.7 million in penalties.

During this webinar, we’ll look at the most common HazCom violations cited by OSHA, including:

  • Lack of or inadequate written HazCom program
  • Lack of or inadequate training
  • Maintaining an SDS for each hazardous chemical and ensuring thy are readily accessible
  • Labels (In-house and Shipped containers)

Mishka joined J. J. Keller in 2022 as an advisor on the environmental, health and safety publishing team. With eight years of experience in the environmental compliance field, she specializes in the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Water Act, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System and spill prevention plans. Mishka has significant experience in the areas of project management, determining permitting mechanisms and coordination with regulatory agencies. She holds a bachelor’s from Florida International University and is working toward her master’s in environmental resource management.
