Michigan office recommends eliminating, changing hundreds of MIOSHA rules

Lansing, MI – Michigan’s state-run occupational safety and health program should revise or eliminate rules that exceed federal OSHA requirements, the Michigan Office of Regulatory Reinvention suggested in a report released March 12.

Berkeley, CA – Fatalities associated with handheld cell phone use declined nearly 50 percent and traffic deaths overall declined 22 percent in the two years following a July 2008 handheld cell phone ban in California, according to a new study released March 2 by the Safe Transportation Research and Education Center at the University of California, Berkeley.
