The Food and Drug Administration this week announced the launch of FDA Basics, an online resource designed to help consumers answer questions related to public health.

The resource will cover issues concerning approval of drugs, cosmetics and supplements; updates on recalled foods; information on vaccines; and other topics covered by the agency. A search engine and e-mail alerts also are available.
