The National Safety Council has announced the winners of its 2016 Teen Driving Safety Leadership Award. The Teen Driving Safety Leadership Award, supported by the General Motors Foundation, recognizes individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to teen driver safety by working on policy, awareness, education and outreach.

The 2016 honorees are:

  • New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Co., West Trenton, NJ
  • Sudden Impact Louisiana
  • Seat Belts Are For Everyone (SAFE) program, Topeka, KS

“Car crashes are still the number one killer of teens, and each life lost is preventable,” Deborah A.P. Hersman, president and CEO of NSC, said in a press release. “This year’s winners all had one thing in common: reaching out to teen drivers and building partnerships in their states to really make a difference. They truly deserve to be recognized as leaders in teen driving safety.”
