New from NSC: Calculate the cost savings of infectious disease mitigations

Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council, along with research and advisory firm Verdantix, has released the NSC COVID-19 Cost Calculator for Employers.

The calculator was created to help employers understand the real costs of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. Enter the size of your workforce, the average salary of your employees and other relevant information to see how much money you spend per employee during an outbreak with and without mitigations such as a new ventilation system and personal protective equipment.

You can estimate the costs of an infectious disease on your bottom line and identify how much money you could save by implementing a mitigation strategy. The calculator can be used to estimate costs incurred or mitigated during the COVID-19 pandemic specifically, as well as to generalize the potential expense and savings of proactively planning for future infectious disease outbreaks and pandemics.
