Editor's Note: If you’re reading this issue …
Whenever a year draws to a close, the thoughts of thousands of editors, bloggers and other writers turn to New Year’s resolutions. As I write this during the final days of 2016, I’m no exception.
In this issue of Safety+Health, our good friend Richard Hawk writes about a new approach he’s taking to setting goals and planning projects for the new year, and shares some tips for you, his fellow safety pros.
Perhaps your resolution is to obtain some type of safety certification – or get recertified. In the “Supplier News” listings found in this month’s “New Products” section, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals announces its relocation to Indianapolis. (Disclosure: BCSP CEO Treasa Turnbeaugh is a member of the S+H editorial advisory board)
Reading the item reminded me of something that we at this publication don’t communicate nearly as often as we should: BCSP uses S+H editorial content as part of its Online Recertification Quiz Program. So by reading S+H and completing BCSP’s quizzes, you could be earning Continuance of Certification points toward several certifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer (CET)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
- Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)
- Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
