Itasca, IL — Are you interested in taking on a leadership role with the National Safety Council? NSC values diversity and cultivates an inclusive environment as we dedicate ourselves to our mission of saving lives from the workplace to anyplace. We are currently seeking a diverse slate of individuals to serve on our Board of Directors and Delegates Committee for the next two years.

As you consider serving NSC, please note the following responsibilities for each of these positions:
Board of Directors: Directors are responsible for ensuring NSC fulfills its mission by planning for the future, monitoring current operations and evaluating the organization. They must fulfill the fiduciary responsibilities of the board, making organizational decisions that protect and further the mission. Directors may be elected for a term of not less than one year or greater than two years. The board meets in person at least twice each fiscal year in addition to two conference calls.
Delegates Committee: Delegates provide direction, counsel and guidance to the Board of Directors regarding causes and solutions to identified areas of need; provide policy position statement recommendations to the board; assist in the execution of the council’s strategic plan; and promote NSC membership. Delegates are elected for a two-year term. The committee meets as often as deemed necessary to fulfill its responsibilities, with no fewer than two meetings annually.

Nominations are due July 31. Candidates will be reviewed for experience, interests and industry representation.
