Barab: Cranes and derricks standard 'on track'
The long-awaited new cranes and derricks standard for construction is "on track" for publication by the end of the month, assistant OSHA administrator Jordan Barab said July 14 in Cincinnati.
Speaking at the Associated General Contractors of America Safety and Health Conference, Barab also expressed his agency's gratitude to safety and health professionals. "I want you to know that we know how hard you work to protect your fellow workers, and we sincerely appreciate your commitment and your accomplishments," he said.
Barab said Ben Bare, former director of OSHA's Omaha Area Office, has been named deputy director and acting director of the agency's Directorate of Construction. OSHA is accepting applications for the director position.
