Construction committee charter to be re-established
The charter for the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health will be re-established, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis announced Oct. 14.
Since first being established in 1969, the 15-member ACCSH has provided advice to the secretary of labor on construction safety and health standards, as well as policy matters related to the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act.
"The members' advice and recommendations are extremely valuable to the agency because they have a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience in a wide range of construction trades, activities and issues," OSHA administrator David Michaels said in a press release.
The charter will be signed and filed Oct. 29, and will expire two years from that date.
