Delaware school bus drivers subject to background checks
Wilmington, DE – New school bus drivers in Delaware will be subject to criminal history background checks, according to a bill signed into law May 10 by Gov. Jack Markell (D).
The law amends existing laws regarding criminal background checks for drivers seeking school bus driver endorsement from the Department of Motor Vehicles to comply with federal requirements for background checks. FBI criminal records will be used in the review of school bus driver applicants, who also will be subject to fingerprinting.
