DOL seeks feedback on strategic plan

The Department of Labor this week launched a series of Web chats to seek input from stakeholders on the department's six-year strategic plan.

On Thursday, DOL hosted a Web chat on the Mine Safety and Health Administration and the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs. During the MSHA Web chat, agency administrator Joseph A. Main announced a "Voice in the Workplace" initiative on worker rights, and said the agency was looking for suggestions on the best way to evaluate and train its inspectors.

Several other Web chats are scheduled for the week of April 5-9, including one for OSHA on April 7. Strategic overviews for various DOL agencies are available online. A final draft of DOL's strategic plan is scheduled to be posted for review and comment in July.
