MSHA invites public to comment on coal dust rule
The Mine Safety and Health Administration recently announced (.pdf file) six public hearings on a proposed rule (.pdf file) that would revise the agency's existing standards on miners' occupational exposure to respirable coal mind dust, including lowering the current exposure limit.
The meeting dates are:
Dec. 9 -- Washington, PA
Jan. 11 -- Evansville, IN
Jan. 13 -- Birmingham, AL
Jan. 25 -- Salt Lake City, UT
Jan. 27 -- Arlington, VA
Comments on the proposed rule are due Feb. 28, 2011.
