NIOSH seeking comment on nanotechnology research strategy

Washington – NIOSH is accepting comment until March 19 on the type of hazard identification and risk research the agency should include in its nanotechnology strategic plan for fiscal years 2013-2016.

Specifically, NIOSH is requesting feedback on the following questions:

  • What is the basis or rationale for priorities that NIOSH should give to studies of toxicity evaluation or workplace exposure characterization for engineered nanoparticles?
  • What rationale can be provided for recommending needs and types of technical and educational guidance materials?
