OSHA seeking nonprofit organizations to join training center program
Washington – OSHA is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations interested in teaching classes on occupational safety and health as part of the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers Program.
Additional organizations to serve as authorized educators on behalf of OSHA for private-sector workers, supervisors and employers within the agency’s jurisdiction are necessary due to increased demand, according to the agency.
The national network of OTI Education Centers provides courses on recordkeeping, machine guarding, confined spaces, electrical standards and fall arrest systems. The centers are selected through a competitive process; those selected receive no funding from OSHA and must support training through tuition and fee structures.
The deadline for applications is June 15. A proposal conference is scheduled for May 2 at the OSHA Directorate of Training and Education in Arlington Heights, IL.
