OSHA’s construction advisory committee schedules meeting, seeks nominees

Washington – OSHA has scheduled a meeting of its Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health.

The meeting is open to the public and set for 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 30 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern on Dec. 1 in Washington.

On the agenda are remarks from OSHA administrator David Michaels, updates from the Directorate of Construction, clarification of crane standard requirements, updates from NIOSH and the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management, and updates on the National Safety Stand-Down.

Requests to speak at the meeting and for special accommodations are due Nov. 11.

The 15-member committee also is accepting nominations for eight new members – three each to represent employee and employer groups, and one each to represent public and state safety and health agencies. Nominations are due Jan. 27.
