“Rachel created and led an impactful safety initiative to revise a primer dust vacuum cleaning and maintenance process to reduce team member exposure to hexavalent chromium. Rachel took the initiative to identify the issue, find a solution and implement the project. The new vacuums are easily portable, require less maintenance and cleaning, and allow filter replacement without exposure to primer dust. This initiative has resulted in zero primer dust incidents or near misses, related to the vacuum cleaning process, since the initiative was implemented.”
