Association offers tips on safe baby carrier use
Many parents and caregivers carry children in slings, wraps and soft carriers. The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association recently released a set of tips for safely carrying a baby in these devices:
- Make sure the baby's entire face is visible at all times and not pressed against the wearer.
- Keep the baby close enough that the wearer can kiss the top of the baby's head.
- Do not cover the baby's head with any fabric.
- Be sure the baby is not hunched with his or her chin touching the chest.
