Construction advisory committee plans meeting near OSHA Latino worker summit

OSHA's Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health is scheduled to host meetings this month in conjunction with the agency's much-hyped public summit on Latino worker health and safety.

The National Action Summit for Latino Worker Health and Safety, scheduled for April 14-15 in Houston, aims to develop an agenda to reduce injuries and illnesses among Latinos in construction and other high-risk industries. The summit features several workshops and keynote addresses from OSHA and NIOSH officials.

ACCSH's meetings will take place at the nearby Crowne Plaza downtown hotel in the days before and after the summit. Several committee workgroups will meet April 12-13. The main committee will meet the mornings of April 14 -- before the summit officially begins -- and April 16.
