Rosemont, IL – The National Roofing Contractors Association and roofing manufacturer GAF have teamed up to create a website intended to help roofing contractors keep their employers safe.

The website will include a series of free webinars about the industry’s most common OSHA citations. The first webinar is scheduled for Jan. 21 and will focus on fall protection, the No. 1 violation. Participants may register in advance and do not need to be members of NRCA to view the webinar.

The Western States Roofing Contractors Association also helped with the site, which provides additional resources such as toolbox talks and a Safety Matters Roof Map that includes common safety guidelines. The diagram offers tips on ladder use, hot kettle operations, hoists, safety monitors and skylight covers.

The organizations created the site as a response to a recent survey by GAF showing that 49 percent of roofing contractors who performed low-slope roofing work wanted more information and training about OSHA standards and required safety equipment.
