Brian Desiderio
Assistant Safety Officer
USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), U.S. Navy
Yokosuka Naval Base, Yokosuka, Japan

“Lt. Desiderio provided time-critical and deliberate Operational Risk Management training to more than 5,000 sailors through a demanding 139-day operational deployment. It included 15,900 flight hours and 29 underway replenishments. Additionally, 7,000 jobs and 100,000 man hours were conducted during the ship’s maintenance period with no significant injuries. In 2016, he led 55 enhanced ORM trainings prior to major command evolutions to imbue personnel with the skills to look critically at their performance and effectiveness of their pre-event assessment.”
