Itasca, IL — The Journal of Safety Research is offering free access – through February – to a special issue featuring select papers from the National Occupational Injury Research Symposium.

Researcher and authorized OSHA instructor Ahmed Al-Bayati and his team identified 16 contributing factors.

“People who deviate from the norm often aren’t aware of it,” says researcher Nejc Sedlar. “That’s how it becomes ingrained within a work group.”

“Knowing when risk is more likely would allow you to change work schedules to minimize the risk, which, in turn, would potentially put less strain on our bodies,” says doctoral student Matthew Laske.

Musculoskeletal disorders are a persistent and unresolved issue in the workplace. The National Safety Council is coordinating a virtual special issue of the Journal of Safety Research focused on MSDs.
